I will not be online for the next three of four days as we off to travel the Kerry Way. I think my wife purposely selected a hotel without internet access. Maybe the few days break will give me a chance to sort out the PHP code fro the Gallery2 link for the sidebar.

The biggest drawback with maintaining a blog is the lack of a local backup. All backups are serverside. If they become corrupt there is no way back.

An anomaly exists  in the backup of the site. Unfortunately, posts 183 – 191 are corrupted and therefore no longer available

The cache seems to be corrupted or the path to its directory is missing. Another job for the "to do list"

  I wll be visiting Cork and Waterford on the return leg. There is broadband access available in both venues so I may be permitted to bring my horse of a laptop with me

The customised sidebar 2 (the one in the middle) for the blog is gone forever despite several attempts to recover it from server-side backups. I will try to hardcode it again but it is a real hit and miss affair as I just dip into PHP books and try this and that and hope it works [...]
