Hi Joe,
Love you blog. I just thought you might be interested in the following link to a recent educational podcast. The Frog Blog and the SCC English Blog, two websites from St. Columba’s College in Dublin have just posted a podcast about blogging in education. The podcast would be of interest to teachers looking for incorporate blogging into their teaching. The podcast (or frogcast in the case of the Frog Blog), discusses the value, purpose and motivation for blogging in schools, in particular in relation to our Science and English departments. It also offers some practical advice to teachers looking to set up a blog.
The podcast is available on both the SCC English Blog (http://www.sccenglish.ie/2009/11/podcast-16-blogging-in-schools.html)and the Frog Blog (http://blog.sccscience.com/2009/11/frogcast-1-blogging-in-schools.html) . Incidentally, both of these blog have been shortlisted for next week’s Eircom Golden Spider Awards, within the Best Blog category. I think it is great that educational blogs are being recognised for the purpose they serve.
I hope this finds you well,
Yours in education,
Humphrey Jones, Frog Blogger
P.S It would be great if you could add us to your blogroll?
Thanks for giving this title a mention. It’s available in both physical format and ebook format on the Packt site. The forum features are added with bbPress, and the social bits with BuddyPress.
If you’re using BuddyPress in and educational context, I’d love to hear about your site, and how you got on with it.
