My Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ arrived today. The packaging has become more economical since its launch back in 2012. The original arrived foam packed in a sturdy cardboard box along with an instruction booklet and above all in an anti-static bag.
No such luck with the latest arrival. It arrived floating around in a light card mini snack box with no anti-static bag.
Yeah! The original Pi arrived with my address and stamps on the actual shipping box. I suppose it is all part of keeping the price down by cutting costs when and where they can. I won’t be handling my Pi very much so I won’t need a anti-static bag anyway.
Hi Mike,
Point taken!
When I run workshops with the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and any other Pi for that matter I always insist that the Pi is returned to its anti-static bag for safe keeping. The PI3B+ doesn’t fit in many of the cases I have the heat-sinks cannot be fitted as the chips are in different positions. Though “they” state in the blurb that they have improved the thermal management on this B+ upgrade.
Hi Joe it was nice to meet you in UCD. Is there any place I can order a PI 3 B+ in ireland?
Hi Ciara,
Radionics is my first stop and if you live in Dublin you can collect your order.
