I was surprised to discover this morning that http://www.dublincesi.wordpress.com was blocked by FortiNet, the contracted filtering service for the the Schools’ Broadband Network. I checked out Virtual Education http://virtued.wordpress.com/ and it too is blocked. Both blogs were accessible before the CESI conference - a week earlier! I doubt if it was a policy decision! Well I [...] More frustration! During coffee this morning I mentioned the Open Education Disc project. Lo and behold the site is blocked. It is listed on Google but the site is blocked. This would have been a golden opportunity for European teachers to contribute to its proposed content. This is a free, open source education [...] I have had to work from images of the school podcast studio and children’s work from my portable hardisk that I happened to have with me. Access to my online NAS drive is blocked. The whole organisation of online access is a mess. No advanced planning took place. The access times are very [...] Just got www.slua.com white listed in the host school for this weekend’s Professional Development Workshops  in Malta. I have just learned that I am presenting three full workshops over the weekend so I will have to modify other presentations in a hurry. I understood that I was attending the workshops and participating in discussions [...] BabelFish is still blocked to Irish schools by Fortinet. This is a repeat of December 5th. I submitted it back then for approval but nothing happened. |
