  • Apple Digital Bootcamp - 2010-08-23 18:22:57 -

I have just finished my first day of three at the Apple Digital Bootcamp being held in Alexandra College, Milltown, Dublin. It was a long day 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. filled will hands-on practical workshops. The event was organised by the INTO with the full support of Apple Ireland. Typetec ltd supplied the Apple hardware to the PC community. Both primary and post-primary teachers are being fast-tracked by experts through podcasting, animation, digital photography, videography, music, etc. I can't wait for tomorrow - if I can get up in the morning.

  • WeatherPixie is under the weather - 2010-08-07 15:43:04 -

The WeatherPixie.com has been experiencing server trouble for the last 6 months and is in need of pixie dust. It was definitely down at the end of February as it was pointed out to me in some of my birthday greetings.  I have just gone onto the site and it is empty except for a Twitter link for @weatherpixieHQ .  Judging from the last tweet on March 7th nothing else seems to be happening. Bearing that in mind I am going to retire WeatherPixie from the sidebar until further developments have taken place on the site.

IWB - watch your back!

I have just finished reading eSchool News and the main article is about a new projector which will turn any wall into an interactive surface. Epson and Boxlight are pitching their “ potentially game-changing technology” at the education market. “ The development means schools no longer have to buy separate hardware to enjoy the benefits of IWBs, whose [...]

CESI Dublin Import

The  first attempt to export the content of the  CESI Dublin blog met with partial success.

I presume it is a matter of permissions as some of the contributors and authors posted privately and I will have to contact after mid-term break.

Special [...]

“Titles Only” appear because the posts are available to logged-on registered  members only.  The posts have  nothing to do with the eTwinning project hosted on the site  but have relevance to the education sector in general. The forum you referred to was taken offline last year due to lack of use. Try the CESI Dublin [...]

Google Groupies

A big thank you to Liam, Carmel and Kieron for their work winding up the Google Groups underpinning the “old branch sites”. I realise that these goups were their babies and it was difficult walk away from them. Only one Google Group is now functioning for the CESI Dublin Branch and all the members have been removed from the [...]

Censored!?

11 comments have been deleted in the last four days due to the presence of  ”unparlimentary language” and the use of bogus email addresses. There is no “F” in ICT.

Several registered users vetted the comments and deemed them unsuitable for publication on an education blog. This does not mean that I or [...]

Last Post

Today was the official last posting date for Conference 2008 Registrations. The conference committee cannot guarantee a place or  meal if you leave it any later. However, if you have a postal collection to-morrow (Saturday) you are in luck. Please do not post your registration on Monday as they go to Drumcondra Education Centre for [...]

January Workshop hiccup!

Unfortunately, the ICT Lab is experiencing technical difficulties at present so the January workshop will have to be re-scheduled or held over until after midterm next February.
