Some of the financial chit-chat posted by teachers during summer 2007 was a sign of things to come.

The CESI Dublin site cost nothing but it was not seen as an asset to CESI. Admittedly, there was a time overhead involved in the management  and moderating of the site. Unfortunately, CESI members living and teaching in Dublin did not use the site. The vast majority of visitors and commenters were non-CESI members. In fact, it may be a sign of my age but I did not know the most of them so I could not verify them for posting purposes. I also did not share their  militant and separatists views.

The CESI Dublin site will remain intact just in case the Dublin Branch needs a web presence in the next 12 months. After all is said and done – IT IS FREE!

The blog and podcasting course requested by members following the 2008 Conference is going ahead for one week only next July. The compulsory late start on Tuesday and the subsquent Saturday finish has resulted in 9 cancellations.  So for any of you who are not flying out on the Friday night or early Saturday morning the course has plenty of places available.

No previous web authoring, blogging or podcasting experience required.

The CESI National Executive Committee met today so it looks like a root and branch renewal in underway.  A formal structure to branch meetings and activities will have to be re-established in order to draw down TPN and TPC funding.

The CESI National Executive Committee met today so it looks like a root and branch renewal in underway.  A formal structure to branch meetings and activities will have to be re-established in order to draw down TPN and TPC funding.

That does not mean that the casual and informal social gatherings should cease forthwith. On the contrary, the official infra-structure should help to strengthen the social aspect of the Dublin Branch.

Volunteers are also required to moderate and manage various online facilities which shall evolve over the next few weeks.

The post conference National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting is next Saturday. The NEC cannot be blamed for “doing their own thing” if they have no idea of what the non-attendees think or want of the society. If is fruitless sitting around a table in a pub complaining – have your say.
