eTwinning on TeacherTube

I came across this search on TeacherTube today. It lists all the YouTube eTwinning contributions to date. All the content is screened by TeacherTube but it is still blocked by FortiNet.

Google Images are back!

The 4th Class girls in Saint Attracta’s S.N.S. were delighted to find that the Google Image search facility was available on the Schools’ Broadband service this morning. The usual cohort of puppies and ponies found their way into their DTP projects. The boys on the other hand did not even know the service had been suspended!

Google Image Search is blocked!

No warning! The Google Image Search facility has been blocked on the Schools’ Broadband Service.

It seems to have fallen foul of FortiNet filtering protocols. I doubt if it was a policy decision by the NCTE as many schools use Google Image Search everyday. There may have been a category filing software glitch which triggered the [...]

CESI Dublin Blocked!

It was only a matter of time before the CESI Dublin blog would fall victim to the Irish Schools’ Broadband filtering service managed by FortiNet. Why? Because some of the links though educational in content may contain comments expressed in appropriate language.
