Apologies for my absence over the last week or so but I was under the weather. Besides the blog curling up at the edges my garden is now displaying a lovely crop of daisies and dandelions.

Egg Hunt 2009

My wife and I had a great time earlier on today in County Wexford. We attended the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt in aid of a private charity project to raise money to purchase a cooling cap for chemotherapy patients. The cap keeps the roots of the hair cool during chemotherapy and helps to prevent hair loss.

Podcasting is Cool

Its official podcasting is cool.

While browsing the tech mags in Easons, Liffey Valley yesterday I could not help noticing a podcasting kit featured in Red Magazine http://www.redmagazine.co.uk under the title Tech Toys for Boys and Girls.

The young woman reading the page remarked to her companion that she would love to buy the kit and set up a gossip show in college.

It looks like the Behringer USB podcasting kit featured on this blog earlier on in the year.

I had a look at a new service fom the Odeo people it is called Twitter. I mentioned my eTwinning in my Twit or Twitter but I don’t think anyone is reading the stuff.

In fact I do not know how it really works. That’s incorrect. You say what have to say in 140 characters. But what is the service intended for? And who would actually use it? If you have to create a need for something – the need did not exist in the first place. You can check my efforts at https://twitter.com/frankzeph. Don’t ask?

My Odeo account http://odeo.com/users/OideScoile isn’t what I want for the forthcoming eTwinning project. I am not a control freak but I want to be sure of the content suitability of everyting I am involved in as I will hopefully be dealing with school children.

UPDATE: July 29th 2007

I am no longer using either of the above facilities as they are not suitable for my school based activities. I have decided to close the Twitter account – if I can find out how!? The Odeo account will remain intact for the time being.
