GabCast is changing its format.

It no longer offers a free service

The only free service remaining is VoIP recording.

podPress quick fix

The rapid turn around in WordPress upgrades and releases has led to a problem with podPress.

There is another plugin offering doing the rounds.

I think its working title is “Podcasting” but I have not come across it yet.

Click on the link to tidy you over until the matter is addressed.

No Revisions plugin seems to be the answer to our prayers. Cut and paste the following link into your browser.

Podcasting Course Deadline

The deadline for applications for the summer in-service podcasting course is Sunday, May 25th 2008. The Tuesday start resulted in nine cancellations and only two new applicants have been received to date. This brings the applicants to date total to six. The blog and podcasting course requested by members following the 2008 Conference is going ahead for one week only next July. The compulsory late start on Tuesday and the subsquent Saturday finish has resulted in 9 cancellations. So for any of you who are not flying out on the Friday night or early Saturday morning the course has plenty of places available.

No previous web authoring, blogging or podcasting experience required.

Mac v PC Podcasting

There are losts of sites on the net totally consumed with this debate. My advice is stick to what you are comfortable with and go from the known into the unknown. Apple lay claim to inventing the whole podcasting idea though anyone I know who is seriously into podcasting is using a PC for the purpose. Having said that a lot of studios use Macs for post-production work.

This post is to acknowledge the emails regarding the website debate and the possibility of running a blog and podcasting summer course. Perhaps, the DICTat listings would be a better forum to discuss the pros and cons of both camps. In the meantime I will contact the NCTE as we have missed the Drumcondra deadline for applications. Hopefully we will get motoring on the course design as soon as possible.
