<p style="text-align: left;">Last night&#8217;s discussion was alarming to say the least. I am unaware of any national proactive &#8220;back to school&#8221; contingency plan for Irish primary schools. I think it has been left up the local school board who react in conformity with published guidelines in the event of an outbreak in the school.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Teachers must rank high in the vulnerability stakes. Coughing, sneezing and reciting aloud all help to accelerate the spread of the virus in a confined space. Children by their very nature love to play and run around. The resultant variations in temperature may also leave a child vulnerable to infection. Hopefully the powers that be know what they are doing.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The above video from Fox Ten News popped up when I googled &#8220;Back to School with Swine Flu&#8221;. I hope the campaign has more success than the voluntary handwashing in hospitals &#8211; the visiting public just ignores the dispensers for the most part.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p><a href="http://www.theclubhouse.ie/" target="_blank">The Computer Clubhouse </a>provides a creative and safe after-school learning environment for young people from the under-served communities of the south west inner city area of Dublin. The young members work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology. The model of learning was developed by <a href="http://www.media.mit.edu/" target="_blank">Media Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)</a> and the <a href="http://www.mos.org/" target="_blank">Boston Museum of Science</a>.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: left">The Computer Clubhouse is a non-profit organization run by the South West Inner City Network (SWICN) and is part of the <a href="http://www.computerclubhouse.org/content/interactive-map" target="_blank">INTEL Computer Clubhouse  Network </a>.</p>
